A regular boiler, also known as a conventional boiler, relies on elevation for water flow and pressure. The higher a feed tank is placed, the stronger the water pressure will be. One benefit of conventional boilers are that they work even if the water pressure coming from the mains is low.
A regular boiler has a feed tank (usually in the loft). The feed tank receives cold water from the mains and feeds it down to the boiler, there it is heated for radiators; it is also sent to a cylinder, which is also downstairs, to supply the taps and showers with hot water. Next to the feed tank, there will be an expansion tank which maintains a steady water level.

Due to the extra components and space they require, installing a regular boiler is more complex than the other options, but they do have several benefits for large properties.
A regular boiler could be suitable for other reasons, such as if your property has an older radiator system. It is usually best to choose another regular/conventional boiler for your home, as a combi-boiler or system boiler may create unwanted high water pressure.
